If you have set your mind to have SMART goals, let's see how you can formulate your goals...

Without further ado, let’s see how your goal will be made by the following attributes by the application of the SMART method,

Specific: Who, What, Where, When, Why and Which

This will go deep into all the specificities of your target body. Also, it states that you should define the goal as much as possible without any ambiguity.

Who is involved?

Where do I want to accomplish it?

Why am I doing it?

These are some of the questions that you need to answer.

If your goal is to attain your dream body and each one of you will have a different interpretation of losing weight (as for some it might be 5 pounds whereas others it’ll be 10), I suggest you make a specific goal by answering the following questions..

Who: Who is involved? Will I be attaining this goal myself or do I want a trainer/nutritionist?

What: What would I want my body to look like? What is the weight of your new body? What sizes fit your new body? All questions like this will help you get down all the specifications of your goal. An example, I would like to lose 10 pounds in order to be a size 6 dress size and tone my core.

Where: Where do I want to exercise or diet? Am I doing it at home or a gym or at a park?

When: When do I begin and end? Also at what times in the day should I devote to this goal?

Why: Why am I losing weight? Is it a medical thing or I want to just look good in my old jeans? You should put your own personal reason for this step.

Which: Which are the things that you require to accomplish this goal? Is it a gym membership? Exercise clothes? Or a grocery trip to buy more nutritious food?

If you answered all the questions according to your needs, you will have a goal that is rich on all it’s attributes and you will be exponentially more committed towards it as you now know exactly what you want.

This can also be translated into the power of focus, your goal is now clear to you and you know what all you need to accomplish in order to fulfill each and every aspect of your dream body.
