"Energy flows where attention goes." And results show.

This saying holds for whatever you might face in your life. We are often taught from an early age to focus on the bad or the wrong to correct it but how many times have you focused on the problem and found yourself spiraling down deeper into it with no end in sight. How many times have people discussed the "wrong" in society and left the discussion at that? Has it changed? Most of the times, the answer is no. We all love to "spill the tea" and discuss what the bad in our experience. Discussion of such things is often passionate and highly emotional and to be honest we crave a high emotional activity to escape from daily mundane tasks.
The question to ask yourself is, "Where does that put the attention?" A simple shift in perspective could do wonders for you and the people around you. Rather than spending days discussing and gossiping about the said problem, it is better to focus on the solution of that said problem, if it bothers you a lot. And if it doesn't, it is better for you as an individual to step back from it and leave it at that. Many books highlight the same rule as "The Subtle Art Of Not Giving a F***," which clearly states that there is only so much energy you have in a day and your life. Your emotional energy is limited, and you need to choose where you focus the majority of it.
In my personal experience, I have paid my fair share of attention to worthless gossip and learned from that the hard way. Talking about others or what wrong and right they do may be fine for a while if it helps the subject to mend their ways but most of the time we love to gossip about others behind closed doors and discuss them at length. It has never bought me joy, and after a said "gossip" meet, I have personally felt my energy sucked out of my soul and just sad. Sometimes, catharsis is necessary but we tend to take it overboard, so much so that it reduces our happiness. Focusing on them made me powerless, and it took a lot of effort to bring myself back up emotionally.
It is essential for us to focus on our goals and things we want to accomplish in all areas of our life. We should also focus more on the well being of others and ways where e can help them. This step is hugely empowering and shifts your mood instantly. You will be filled with positive energy and would be happier in general.
To conclude, wherever we put our attention remains in our hand and depends solely on our mind. If you want to feel energized, and have your goals accomplished, shift your focus from you, do not want in your life to what you do want.
