Breathing is the essence of healing. There have been many proven cases where people have practiced yoga and breathing exercises regularly and have significantly reduced their allergy symptoms.

Today we will take a look at some of the easy breathing exercises that you can do to help you reduce your allergy symptoms. Remember to practice them diligently, and you will for sure see results very soon!

1. Deep Breathing: This is possibly one of the most straightforward exercises out there that you can do. Try and do this at least two times a day. Take a deep breath for four seconds and hold it in for four before exhaling slowly. Do this for at least ten times in one sitting. It is also beneficial to do this in the morning and before bed or at times when you want to take a break from work or play.

This will help you take in more oxygen and strengthen your breathing system.

This breathing technique will also help you to clear your mind and is great for meditation.

2. Yoga: There is a popular breathing exercise that yoga teachers have been teaching for centuries. It is called "anulom-vilom" and is pretty simple to perform. Sit up straight and breathe in from your left nostril while you cover your right nostril with the help of your thumb and exhale through your right nostril. Now breathe in from your right nostril and exhale from left. Repeat the same breathing pattern for as long as you can.

People often start with 5 min and experts can usually last up to 20 minutes. It is advised that you do this practice at least once a day for 10-15 minutes.

3. Steam: This is for the times when your sinuses are blocked, and you are at the peak of your allergy symptoms and unable to breathe from your nose. When this happens, you should first gently blow out and clear your nose as much as you can. Next, breath in some steam mixed with a couple of drops of tea tree oil or eucalyptus oil through your nose. When you feel the urge, blow out your nose. This will help you to clear your nasal passages and get rid of allergens.

You can also do this before sleeping if sneezes or allergy disturb you at night.

Try these methods out, and you will see positive results! Please remember that allergies are something which takes some time and work to cure. It depends on your effort.
