Have you ever been stressed out? Well, do something about your stress else this can happen to you. And it's terrifying... very terrifying!
Have you ever had an experience where your mind is awake, but your body is still sleeping? If not you are one of the lucky ones.
This condition is known as SLEEP PARALYSIS.
Before you sleep, make sure that you have calm thoughts and are in a happy state of mind. This will reduce the chance of sleep paralysis. Although named sleep paralysis, it is not real paralysis, hence when you start experiencing it, make sure that you remember this fact clearly.
Tell your mind that you are fine and it's not the end of the world. Try and remain calm, it is essential that a panic attack does not hit you. The experience wouldn't last more than a few minutes anyway so try and remain calm.
Also don't try to move your limbs as they are impossible to more during this attack, try and move your extremities like fingers and toes. Once you can move them (which is easy), the attack would end, and you would regain control of your body again.
After you wake up, do some breathing exercises and don't be afraid to fall asleep again as thinking too much about it or being anxious about it would only prolong the attacks making it worse for you. Find out the cause of stress and anxiety in your routine and rectify it so that you don't face this attack anytime soon.
