This Prof. Shocked His Class!

A very highly regarded professor entered a very noisy class. As he stepped inside, the class grew silent. He picked up a piece of chalk and started writing on the blackboard.

As he was writing, he could hear some giggles behind him.

He wrote on the board:

2+2= 4

3+3=5

7+7=14

6+6=12

He turned to his giggling students and asked them a very simple question:

Why are you laughing?

The class grew silent as nobody wanted to tell the professor his mistake on his face. After he had stressed on the question again, one of the brave students said that he had made a mistake.

The professor smiled and announced that the class had learned a life long lesson. The confused faces around the room made him smile once more as he proceeded to explain:

“You all joined my class because of my reputation, yet when I made a simple mistake you couldn’t hep but giggle and make fun of me whereas no one noticed that I actually wrote the other three equations correctly.”

He went on:

“Life is like that, the minute you make a mistake, everyone will spot it out and disregard you while ignoring the thousands of other good deeds that you have accomplished. You need to stay unfazed in such situations and rectify them. Never let the criticism of others undermine you. Your abilities shouldn’t be judged by a mistake that you make, and you should concentrate on making yourself better not taking any comments of others on your heart.”

The class grew even more silent as they pondered upon this gem of a life lesson that they had just been given.
